Deadline for bids from potential partners for gas transportation management extended until March

Ukraine’s government has extended the deadline for accepting bids from potential partners for the management of the country’s gas] until 1 March 2018, according to the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Maksym Beliavsky wrote on his Facebook page, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine in late December 2017 officially invited potential partners for the management of Ukraine gas transportation system to hold preliminary consultations.

Naftogaz-Ukraine CEO Andriy Kobolev considers it vital for Ukraine to make specific offers to attract European partners for the management of the country’s gas transportation system already in early 2018. The delay with the involvement of an international partner will entail the loss of transit of Russian gas through the country, the annual revenue of which is around $3 billion.

The capacity of Ukraine’s gas transportation system at the input is 288 billion cubic meters, as the output some 178.5 billion cubic meters, particularly, 142.5 billion cubic meters to European countries and 3.5 billion cubic meters to Moldova.
