Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan informed there is progress in the negotiations with Ryanair, according to his interview for Channel 5.
“Just now the issue of Ryanair stopped being discussed, but the work is ongoing and the progress is good And I believe they will fly in Ukraine,” he said.
“Moreover, I think that this year there will be a few more pleasant news about new Ukrainian airlines. I think the market is developing in such a dynamic that it’s a clear indicator for many companies that this place is worth the investment. Ukrainians are ready to fly even with high prices, but if the prices are lower, they will fly way more,” Omelyan added.

Ryanair canceled the planned entry to the Ukrainian market on July 10. The company noted that Boryspil took the side of the airlines with the high tariffs, including the International Airlines of Ukraine. Director General of Boryspil airport Pavlo Ryabikin accused Ryanair of political pressure to sign the contract. According to him, Boryspil might face $77 million losses due to the requirements Ryanair makes.
Later on, Boryspil renewed negotiations with Ryanair, this time with the Minister of Infrastructure participating in the discussion.
