UK expects court judgment to recognize Holodomor in Ukraine as genocide

The] thinks that the term ‘genocide’ concerning the Holodomor in Ukraine firstly should be confirmed by the court. It is claimed at the statement of the Embassy of Ukraine to the UK at Facebook.
‘Natalia Galibarenko, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK noted after the debates that took place on November 7 that she joins the British parliamentarians that expressed their disappointment on the current attitude of the UK government that is not ready to recognize the Holodomor as genocide referring to the court judgment’, the message said.

Alistair Burt, the Minister of State for International Development explained that the term ‘genocide’ is the law-term that determines the crime and it should be established in the result of the legal proceeding.
The official noted that the multimillion victims of the Stalin’s regime in Ukraine are the consequence of the crime of the Soviet government that is condemned by the UK and the government of the UK is ready to use the term ‘genocide’ if any British court will judge so.

Pauline Latham, the MP that initiated the debates expressed the disappointment due to the fact that the government is not ready to find the way to officially recognize the Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine as the genocide as 17 countries including Australia, the US and Canada already did.

Earlier it was reported that the Senate of the Washington state adopted the resolution on the commemoration of the victims of the Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine at the end of spring 2017.
