Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Office lifted considerable part of charges from ; most notably, he is not now considered involved in the crackdown on Euromaidan protest in late 2013. Besides, the office lifted charges with involvement in killing dozens of unarmed protesters in Kyiv in February 2014. This was mentioned in the commentary of Vitaliy Serdyuk, the lawyer, and member of Aver Lex lawyers group, who has been protecting Yanukovych in court.
‘In March 2014, GPU (Ukraine’s Prosecutor’s General Office) accused Yanukovych of giving orders to attack 165 peaceful protesters, including 40 reporters – and more orders, which led to deaths of 70 people and beatings of 500 protesters. But currently, most of these accusations were rebuked’, Serdyuk said this, charging the Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Office with political persecution of his client.
The Ukrainian authority has not yet commented on this statement.
