Ukraine’s Finance Minister meets Vice President of World Bank

In the framework of annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington, Ukraine’s Finance Minister Oleksandr] and other Ukrainian government officials met Vice-President of World Bank Cyril Muller, according to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
“During the meeting, the participants discussed the reforms and Ukraine’s cooperation with the World Bank, and also phrased their confidence that the World Bank will remain a reliable partner of Ukraine on its way to sustainable development,” the statement reads.

It is noted that Danylyuk emphasized the importance of the World Bank’s participation in the process of the reforms, aimed at development and restructuring of the Ukrainian economy.
Cyril Muller, in his turn, stressed the importance of the reforms launched in Ukraine and the necessity of introducing a land reform for further economic development.
The statement also notes that Ukraine and the World Bank are currently working on dozens joint project.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine expects the Ukrainian Parliament to study the draft law that would allow selling agricultural land in October 2017. The IMF stated this reform would be essential for the next tranche but then withdrew this demand.
