Russian city Yekaterinburg announced HIV epidemic
Russian health officials say one in 50 people in the country’s fourth-largest city is carrying the HIV virus.
Regional Deputy Health Minister Tatiana Savinova has officialy announced Wednesday an HIV epidemic saying 1.8 percent of the population carry the virus.
The city has seen an unprecedented surge of those who want to get tested for an HIV virus after the official announcement of the HIV epidemic.

The press service of the Sverdlovsk Regional Centre for Prevention and Control of HIV reported Wednesday, November 2, the mobile rapid-testing point for HIV received twice more patients than usual.
