Brazilian President was jeered by protesters
Brazil's new President Michel Temer was mocked by protesters in his first official public appearance since taking office on August 31.
On Wednesday the President was booed while participated in the county's Independence Day parade in Brasilia and the opening ceremonies of the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, his first official events.
Protesters at the events and in nearly a dozen other state capitals across Brazil were shouting "Temer Out"
According to the Brazilian police, a relatively small number of about 600 protesters gathered in the nation's capital. Much more gather for demonstrations in other Brazilian cities.
Still for the new President’s first week in power, Brazil's real and main stock indexes have gained nearly 3 percent. His team is expected to oversee a recovery of Brazil's economy.
