North Korean nuclear envoy visits China
A North Korean deputy nuclear negotiator has arrived in China, Yonhap agency reported on Wednsday, citing a source familiar with North Korean affairs.
Choe Son-hui, the 52-year-old deputy director for North American affairs at North Korea's foreign ministry, arrived in Beijing on Tuesday, the source said.
Yonhap did not specify the reason for her trip or say who she was expected to meet.
Son-hui is also known as the deputy chief envoy to international negotiations, six-party talks to end North Korean nuclear program, stalled since 2008.
Asked about the visit at a daily news briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said she had no information.
Earlier on Monday during G20 summit Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed South Korean President Park Geun-hye the country’s commitment to denuclearizing the Korean peninsula.
