Russian PM: Western sanctions out of international law norms, must be cancelledRussian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is strongly convinced the Western world may once be held accountable for the anti-Russian sanctions.

"Russian Federation, its state companies, as well as average citizens undergo constant severe pressure from the West. Our counterparts from the West destroyed all the diplomacy our predecessors have been establishing for years. Even if there is no official justice, I am sure the historical responsibility is to come," said Medvedev during the plenary meeting of St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

Russian government claims Western sanctions are out of international law norms, thus, must be cancelled immediately.

Two years ago the Russian Federation annexed the Crimean peninsula and later invaded Ukraine's eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. Willing to deter further aggression, the E.U. along with the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Japan imposed economic sanctions against Moscow.

By now the restrictions are prolonged until July 2016, since Russia does not fully implement the Minsk agreement on ceasefire regime and heavy weapon withdrawal.
