Crime on rise in Russia due to refugees from Donbas - Russian Security CouncilRussian Security Council puts blame on 73,000 unemployed migrants from eastern Ukraine.

Crime in the Russian Federation is on the rise due to the large amount of unemployed refugees from eastern Ukraine. The increase of wrongdoing is registered in the country's Southern Federal District. This estimation is given by the Russian Security Council.

"The crime is going high because of the increase of the migrants arriving in the country. The presence of 73,000 unemployed refugees from eastern Ukraine is making the criminal situation worse", according to Security Council secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

The Kremlin officials claim, about 900 000 people from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions are currently living in the Russian Federation.

According to Ukrainian Ministry of Social Policy, Russian aggression in Crimea and Donbas has made more than 1.7 mln people leave their homes and settle in other regions of Ukraine.
