The Constitutional Court of Ukraine considers the submission of 49 MPs on the legitimacy of voting of the Parliament on sanctions against 112 Ukraine and NewsOne. 112 Ukraine broadcasted the session. Then, the court continued considering the case in camera.
As it was reported earlier, Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada urged the country’s National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to introduce sanctions against several Ukrainian TV channels. 229 MPs supported the draft law No. 9157 on 'Approval of recommendations to introduce personal special economic sanctions and other restrictive measures (sanctions)'.

112 Ukraine considers these sanctions as restriction of freedom of speech and threat to media’s independent work, therefore, the TV channel seeks support from the international organizations. Letters were sent to the President of the European Commission Donald Tusk, the European Commissioner Federica Mogherini and Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjoern Jagland.
