Russia begins issuing passports to residents of occupied Donbas

State Border Guard of Ukraine
The Russian Federation started to hand its passports over to the residents of the so-called DNR, Donetsk People's Republic. Interfax, Russia's news agency reported this June 14.
'The first 34 residents of Donbas set out to get the Russian passports', reads the message.

April 24, Russian President Putin signed the decree, which simplified the procedure of obtaining Russian citizenship for the residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. May 1, he signed another document that extended the right to get the Russian citizenship under the simplified procedure for other categories of Ukrainians, including the natives of Crimea and their relatives.
Poland, Canada, France, Latvia and the U.S. condemned Putin's decree.
During the approaching G20 Summit in Osaka, EU leaders are supposed to make a statement, in which they'd state they would not recognize the passports that Russian illegally hands to Ukrainian citizens.
