Russia will equip 6 military facilities near Ukrainian borderRussian Defense Ministry plans to replace 330 military bases and depots for 24 transshipment and logistics complexes, one of which will be in the occupied Crimea and 5 more will be situated near Ukrainian border.

The map of the planned complexes has been published by Russian newspaper “Kommersant”.

The source of the publication in the Ministry of Defense says the decision to establish complexes is explained by the desire to "reduce the cost by almost half of the price, to 14.8 billion rubles," and to "extend logistic opportunities for army supplying."

According to the Defense Ministry’s project of industrial and logistics facilities’ and complexes’ construction, by the year 2017 a complex should be built near Ukrainian border, in Sebastopol. In 2016 complexes will appear in the villages of St. Michael, Koysuh, Krasnoflotskyy, as well as in Armavir and Buturlinovka.

According to sources of the edition, the Command of Southern, Central and Eastern military districts has been instructed to begin releasing of areas for the construction for the PLC inventories and military equipment by the 1st of April 2016.

And by March the 1st 2016 the Command of fleets and districts needs to alter the tactical and technical specifications for complexes’ building taking into account technological characteristics of military equipment that will be stored there.
