Court opens case on exit ban for Ukrainian top-officials

Kyiv District Administrative Court opened a criminal proceeding on the request to ban 180 officials to leave Ukraine after the presidential and parliamentary elections, as reported.
“The claimant asks the court to find the inactivity of the National Police on failure to impede crimes organized by the people who hold political posts and might have committed corruption crimes. Besides, the claimant asks to find inactivity of SBU (Security Service of Ukraine, - ed.) in terms of failing to perform all the measures to protect national security from organized criminality,” the message reads.

In particular, the claimant mentions the names of President Poroshenko, Parliament’s Speaker Andriy Parubiy, Ukraine’s PM Volodymyr Groysman, over 50 MPs of Petro Poroshenko Bloc, over 40 members of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of the leadership of Naftogaz-Ukraine, and the judges of the Supreme Court and members of High Judicial Selection Commission. There are 180 names on the list.
As it was reported, in April, 2019 Kyiv District Administrative Court received the third lawsuit on ban on exit from Ukraine for top-officials.
