Court extends arrest of four Crimean Tatars till August 15

On May 13, Tahanroh City Court in Rostov region extended preventive measure for four people involved in the second case of Hizb ut-Tahrir detained during mass raids on March 27 in Crimea, as Krym.Realii reported.
Court ruled that Seyran Murtaza, Enver Ametov, Mejit Abdurakhmanov and Rustem Seytkhalitov will be in prison till August 15, 2019.

“It was standard and cliche – sets of duty phrases about the need to extend the restrictive measure and detention period because of questioning of 15 witnesses and holding some investigative events. The only motion which was granted – admission of the relatives to the announcement,” the lawyer Ayder Azamatov stated.
He added that the court session was in camera as information which is the secrecy of the investigation sounded there. Yet, other court hearings on such cases in Rostov are public.

Russia annexed Crimea after the illegal referendum held on the peninsula in March 2014. Earlier, the Russian military captured all strategic military objects and buildings of the key authoritative bodies. Neither Ukraine nor the rest of the civilized countries recognized the results of the referendum. A number of the European and the world countries, including Ukraine, imposed the economic sanctions against Russia.
