Six near simultaneous explosions happened in Shri Lanka. The blasts at three churches and hotels were carried out by suicide bombers on Easter Day. 138 persons died and at least 400 were wounded as a result of blasts, as The National reports.
Sunday morning, three churches were hit: St. Anthony's Shrine in Colombo; St. Sebastian's Church in Negombo, a Catholic majority town north of Colomb; and the Zion Church in the eastern town of Batticaloa. Two churches were blown up by the suicide bombers.

According to the witnesses, the buildings in the surrounding area shook with the blast at St Anthony’s Shrine. The explosions occurred during the mass while people were celebrating Easter.
"The explosion ripped off the roof and knocked out doors and windows at St. Sebastian’s, where people carried the wounded away from blood-stained pews," the report said.
The three hotels believed to have been hit were The Kingsbury; The Shangri-La Hotel; and the Cinnamon Grand, all in Colombo.

“Easter Day bomb blasts at three Sri Lankan churches and three luxury hotels killed 138 people and wounded more than 400,” Reuters reported.
Nine foreigners were among the dead, the officials said.
More than 50 people were killed only in St. Sebastian’s, and in another one 25 more. The accurate number is still unknown.
