Maksym Stepanov, the dismissed Chairman of Odesa Region State Administration, agreed to leave his post. Maksym Stepanov stated this on April 10, as 048.ua media outlet reports.
“I am happy that made the President at least in such a way to abide by the Constitution of Ukraine. The procedure was followed correctly. I think that the order of the President concerning my dismissal will appear soon. I am not going to appeal against this decision in court, as the whole country saw the reasons for my dismissal. The elections in Odesa region were conducted fairly and transparently, so this decision is the political one,” Stepanov said.

Ukraine’s Government approved the draft decree of the President Petro Poroshenko on the dismissal of Maksym Stepanov from his post of Odesa region governor. The relevant decision was made at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 10.
Earlier, on April 8, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on resignation from the post of the Head of Odesa Region State Administration Maksym Stepanov. Some sources claim that the president wanted to dismiss due to Poroshenko’s poor results in Odesa region during the first round of presidential elections (9% of the votes). Stepanov completely ruined the work of Poroshenko’s so-called “Grid” operation, the electorate’s bribe system, in Odesa region.
In his turn, Stepanov refused to leave his post. He said that the President exceeded his authority.
