Ukrainian convicted for robbery in Poland

Ukrainian is stealing jewelry in Polish shopping mall, April 10, 2019

Warsaw District Court sentenced a 36-year-old Ukrainian to seven years of imprisonment for a jewelry store robbery in a shopping and entertainment center, as Polske Radio reported.
The Ukrainian was accused of stealing jewelry amounting to over $191,559. The man has to partially pay damages done to the jewelry store and pay around $99,160.
The Prosecutor’s Office accused a 36-year-old Ukrainian of getting through the ventilation shaft to the jewelry store in Arkadia shopping mall and stole jewelry. It is known that he acted along with “other unidentified culprit Oleg.”

The Prosecutor’s Office informed that the Ukrainian hid in a technical room in one of the bathrooms when the shopping mall was closed. He prepared tools for break-in there. After the mall was closed, the man got into a ventilation shaft. He got down on a rope, took out the keys to the safe with jewelry.
The criminal took all the treasures and money. He returned to the bathroom through a ventilation shaft. He waited till the morning and then left the building.

The main trail which he left was a rope with traces of epidermis and hair. Besides, the CCTV recorded the man. He bought a rope in Arkadia shopping mall before the break-in.
The man was detained when he returned from Ukraine to Poland in June in 2018.
