Viktor Medvedchuk
The new president should immediately raise the issue
of the change of government, 112 Ukraine reported citing Viktor Medvedchuk, the Chairman of Opposition Platform – For life political party.
“Everything will depend on the person, elected as the president on April 21 but the escalation of president-parliament relations can take place. But for newly elected president, any, as I think, the government will be important and it is very long to wait for the resignation of the Cabinet of Minister, which is provided by Constitution only until the elections to the parliament in October 2019; it will be irrational and ungrounded from the side of any president, I mean the person, who will become the president,” he added.

“In my opinion, it is counterproductive to take the wait-and-see stand and do not introduce order in the country, releasing it from chaos, economic mess, issues tied with the social payments, issues ties with the utility tariffs and many other issues but expect another election campaign to the parliament. So, the relations president-parliament is the main thing, which can cause the escalation in the future,” Medvedchuk said.
The first tour of the presidential elections finished in Ukraine. After the processing of 100% of the protocols it was announced that Zelensky got 30,24% of the votes, Poroshenko has 15,95% and Tymoshenko gained 13,40%. The second tour of the elections is appointed for April 21.
