The Court found home arrest illegal. Navalny has served this sentence for over ten months in 2014. The Court ruled that Russia violated Navalny’s right for freedom and personal integrity and right for freedom of assembly and association.

Navalny was detained during the protest action on Tverskaya Street. The protocol was completed earlier.
Reportedly, Tverskoy District Court of Moscow arrested Alexei Navalny for 30 days for participation in the protest of voters’ strike on January 28. Navalny was detained for 30 days in May for the protest action called “He is not our Tsar,” which was held in conjunction with the inauguration of Vladimir Putin. The politician himself thinks that he was detained to prevent the preparation of the planned for September 9 protest action against raising the retirement age, which he is going to miss due to his arrest.
