Ukraine's oligarch Kolomoysky demands to return him USD 2 bn from Privatbank

Ihor Kolomoysky, the Ukrainian oligarch and former owner of Privatbank, demands to give him back two billion U.S. dollars of the bank's assets. He might, in turn, give up this financial institution. Kolomoysky said that in his interview with Ekonomichna Pravda.
'I don't get the government's position. Do they want to keep Privatbank[/img]

The oligarch said he expected a fair and just trial in the case of Privatbank that he once owned - 'after the change of power', as he put it.
'As long as there's Poroshenko in office, there will be no fair trials in this country. And it's not just about my case (...) It's a matter of principle, not money', he said.

The decision to nationalize Privatbank was made in December 2017. 100 percent of its shares were handed over to the state. The IMF supported that decision, stating that it's an important step to secure Ukraine's financial stability.
