Moscow is opened for dialogue with Kyiv directed at the implementation of Minsk Agreements, but the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko does not want that, as Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
“We are open for a dialogue aimed not at small talk and made up reasons for inaction but at the practical implementation of Minsk Agreements. I have no doubts that Petro Poroshenko does not want that and will not do that. When Viktor Medvedchuk offered to discuss the autonomy status of Donbas he was called a betrayer. Poroshenko said this would never happen but he signed off on a special status of Donbas which is described in detail in Minsk Agreements,” Lavrov said in an interview for Moskovskij Komsomolets.

Earlier, the political party “Opposition Platform – For Life” held an All-Ukrainian Congress.
"On January 29, during the Congress of “Opposition Platform – For Life”, we have discussed main provisions of this plan, we pointed out that negotiations should form the basis of the plan. As I have said then and I can repeat it now: this is direct talks between Kyiv and Donetsk, Luhansk and Moscow. I do think so, drawing upon the experience of the negotiation process, and I have been dealing with this since May, 2014. Therefore, I believe that such statement might change the situation in terms of a peaceful settlement, if there is a political will from all the sides. Yet, it might appear if it is effective in this quadrangle, through direct negotiations,” Medvedchuk explained.
