In Ukraine, the clock is still being set back and forth to ‘summer’ and ‘winter’ time
, although in the European Union, for example, abandoned this practice. Traditionally, Ukrainians change to daylight saving time on the last weekend of March, which this year also coincides with the presidential elections. On Sunday, March 31, at 3:00, the clock will have to be set an hour forward.
And if modern gadgets can manage themselves, making life easier, the same cannot be said about the body and mechanical watches.

Why change the time?

For the first time, Germany and its allies resorted to the change of time in World War I in order to save coal. A year later, the rest of the European countries adopted this practice.
Even until now, just as in 1916, the change of clock is used to save resources and use daylight hours to the maximum.
But the times when it was necessary to use oil lamps or candles have passed, and artificial lighting takes a fairly small place in general energy consumption. In addition, it affects health quite negatively. Therefore, more and more countries are refusing to change the time – a little more than 60 countries in the world still do this.

How time transfer affects the body

Doctors from around the world researched and concluded that change of clock affects the body negatively. Often, the way it influences body depends on the physical health of each person, but in one way or another it affects everyone.

Seasonal and daily regimes are connected to the flow of internal body processes. In course of evolution a strict order of biological processes was developed. For example, sleep has several phases and each requires completion. When the regime is changed, the fast morning phase, which is responsible for the memorization and assimilation of the last day’s material, ends abruptly. As a result, a person’s memory is deteriorating, and out-of-the-box thinking gets dull.
In addition, the change of time could cause aggravation of some diseases, such as spinal osteochondrosis, arthritis, etc. Common symptoms that doctors record are drowsiness, fatigue, sleep disturbance, irritability. In the first days after switching to summer time, the number of industrial accidents increases by 5%.

It is recommended to walk more. Walking should be an integral part of daily life and take at least half an hour.
Try to reduce the strain - physical and especially emotional. If possible by all means avoid stresses and overloading nervous system.
What you eat makes up an important part of well-being. Try to temporarily give up fat and spicy foods, eat less sweet food and more to vegetables and fruits. It is also better to refuse from coffee and alcohol for a couple of days.
Disturbance of the regime and lack of sleep do not work well with driving. Therefore, try not to drive the first couple of days after the time change.
To make the morning as easy as possible, prepare in advance everything you can: clothes, think about breakfast, which you can prepare in the evening and warm up in the morning. Taking shower will cheer you up.

Cancelation of daylight saving time in Ukraine

After the European Union decided to cancel changing of time
twice a year, this issue was also raised in Ukraine. Not for the first time, but earlier it was not possible to reach an agreement.
In particular, Ukraine’s Ministry of Economic Development said that since we are headed to the European integration, this idea can be supported.
"If the EU decides to cancel the transition to daylight saving time, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade will contact the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine about the possibility of making such changes," the ministry commented.
However, the matter did not move any further. Therefore, do not forget to set the clock forward on March 31!
