From April 1, guests arriving in Lviv will have to pay a tourist fee. This decision was made on Monday, March 11, at the session of the Lviv City Council.
Tourists will have to pay 0.2-0.5% of the size of minimum wage for each day of stay in the city of Lviv. Percentage of the fee will depend on the cost of overnight stay (temporary accommodation): up to 350 UAH ($13,3) - 0.2%, from 350 - 750 UAH ($14-28,5) - 0.3%, 750-1200 UAH ($30-45,6) - 0.4% and for over 1200 UAH ($50) - 0.5%.
The cost of “temporary accommodation” or “overnight stay” means the total cost of a room (number), rent of an apartment, residential house or another residential real estate regardless of the number of guests.
This local government decision comes into force on April 1, 2019. Lviv municipality says that this way the tourist fees rates are brought in line with the Tax Code of Ukraine.

As it was reported earlier, the airport of Lithuanian capital Vilnius has adopted the correct writing of the Ukrainian cities. Now, the Ukrainian transliteration Kyiv will be used instead of the Soviet transliteration Kiev as well as Lvov was replaced with Lviv.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister launched a media campaign #CorrectUA to urge the world to use “Kyiv” instead of “Kiev”.  The Ukrainian authorities also suggest that international media use purely Ukrainian spelling for such cities as Kharkiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and others, as well as 'Ukraine instead of the widespread mistake, 'the Ukraine'.
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) company uses “Kiev” instead of “Kyiv” as this is an official transliteration of the International Air Transport Association.
