Scythian gold case: Russia-Ukraine battles for treasures

The appeal of Crimea on the case on Scythian gold will be considered today
, on March 11, in Amsterdam. The issue is about hundreds of valuable items of Scythian epoch, which were exhibited in the Netherlands in 2014 before the annexation of Crimea by Russia.
The exhibition was called: “Crimea – the golden island in the Black Sea”. The Scroll of Honour for ancient historian Sirisk and Scythian tented ontop in the form of the Griffin.

The dispute between Ukraine and Russia “Where the collection should be returned” has begun after the annexation of the peninsula. As a result, the Amsterdam Court decided in December 2016 that Scythian gold should be returned to Ukraine.
Occupation authority of Crimea appealed the decision of the court in January 2017. Ukraine provided additional evidence to the court in February 2019.
