Man arrested for strangling 84-year-old father to death

Police in Fukui City have arrested a 57-year-old man on suspicion of killing his ailing 84-year-old father with whom he lived.
According to police, Kaichi Hirose, an association staff member, has admitted to strangling his father, Ichi Hirose, with a cord at around 10 p.m. last Thursday, but denied intending to kill him, Fuji TV reported. Police quoted Hirose as saying he was stressed out from caring for his father and strangled him “out of frustration.”
On Friday morning, Hirose called 119 and said his father wasn’t moving and that his body was cold. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. After an autopsy showed the victim had been strangled, police arrested Hirose on Saturday.
Hirose was the sole caregiver for his father and was responsible for feeding and clothing him on a daily basis. He told police things were not going well and he was getting irritated.
