Deputy Commander of Ukrainian Ground Forces gets in car accident

Lieutenant GeneralSerhiyKropyvchenko,Deputy CommanderforLogistics of the Ground Forcesof the Armed Forces of Ukraine,was in a car accident near Mykolaiv city, the press office of the Ground Forcesreported.
The accident occurred on Mykolaiv-Blahovishchenskehighway on the evening of January 11, nearSebynesettlement in Mykolaiv region.

According tolocalNovosti-N newspaper, HyundaiTerracanwith the license plates of the Armed Forces was directed to New Odesa from Mykolaiv. The driver of the SUV lost control over the car nearSebynesettlementand hit the DaewooLanos. Having hit the civil car, theHyundaicrashed into the semitrailer of the truck, which was pulled over on the sidelines.

A rapid responseteamprovided medical aid to the victims, after that they were taken to a hospital. The accident happened amid a severe ice-slick. The condition of theaffected is assessed as moderately severe but stable, reports the leadership of the Ground Forces.

According to the regionalpolice, the 23-year-old driver of the Hyundai lost control over the car and let the collision with the Daewoo happen. A criminal proceeding was initiated against him for the traffic safetyregulations violation. The driver faces a fine of 200 to 500 times the minimum non-taxable income ofUkrainians, correctionallabor for up to two years, arrest for up to six months or imprisonment for up to three years with the withdrawal of drivers licenses for up to three years.
