The tons of the chemical substances are stored at “Styrol” plant near Horlivka, Donetsk region, and it might lead to the chemical catastrophe, as Ukraine's
 Ministry] reported.
According to the ministry, a large amount of ammonia is still stored in the workshops for the production of the sulfuric acid, fertilizers, and nitric acid. Such depots are harmful to the citizens of the nearby settlements.

It is known that the plant does not work. According to the ministry, the chemical substances are not loaded or unloaded there. It means that the plant is halted and will be used as the depot of the hazardous substances.
At the beginning of 2018, about 80 tons of ammonia were stored there. In the case of the chemical catastrophe, all citizens of Horlivka, 250,000 people, will suffer.

The grand-scale accident during which six people died and 20 people were affected took place in 2013. Then, the depressurization of the pipeline and ammonia emission occurred at ammonia reservoir. The white cloud appeared over the plant.
The Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs plans to appeal to the international organizations for conducting the check of the plant by their representatives or independent international experts. Moreover, the ministry is going to appeal to law enforcement bodies.

In July 2014, the substance of the second class of danger, chloronitrobenzene, was stored at the plant. The suspicion in the possible terrorist action existed. In November 2014, the plant was mined; however, the deminers succeeded to defuse 11 ammunition. In 2015, the occupants hid the tanks at “Styrol” plant and repaired hardware.
Russian mass media has begun to spread the fake information
that Ukraine allegedly prepares the chemical attack at the occupied territories of Donbas.

Earlier Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov stated that the ecological situation in Donbas could reach a "point of no return." A catastrophe might threaten the whole Europe.
