Crimean Tatar Edem Bekirov, detained by the Russian law enforcers has been arrested for two months. Refat Chubarov, the leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people posted this on Facebook.

'The Russian occupants chose the two-months-long detention as restriction measure for Edem Bekirov...For the man who underwent a complicated heart surgery (four coronary stents!), who has a prosthesis of his right leg and a lot of collateral illnesses, including the sugar diabetes, it is just as if he was sentenced to the daily tortures, slowly leading him to death', Chubarov wrote.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also protested against the detention of Bekirov, stating that it may create a grave hazard for his life.
As we reported earlier, the Russian law enforcers detained Crimean Tatar Edem Bekirov at the entrance to the occupied Crimea from Chonhar, as the Chairman of Mejlis of Crimean Tatars Refat Chubarov wrote on Facebook.
“On December 12, 2018 Ukrainian citizen, a Crimean Tatar Edem Bekirov was detained at the entrance to the occupied Crimea. He was born in 1961, he lives in Novooleksiivka, Kherson region. It is known that Edem was heading to Crimea to visit his 78-year-old mother and relatives,” the message says.
According to Chubarov, Berkirov was arrested during passport control on the territory controlled by the Russian law enforcers. Later, Chubarov noted that the detainee was taken to Russia’s Security Service office in annexed Simferopol.
