Prosecutor’s Office to question Interior Minister within case on attempted murder of Yanukovych

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine plans to question Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov within the case of the possible assassination attempt on ex-president Viktor Yanukovych in 2014 as UNN reported citing its own sources.
According to the source, the proper summon was filed to the Interior Minister.

However, it did not specify the date of the questioning of Avakov.
The Prosecutor General’s Office holds the pretrial investigation of the criminal proceeding dated May 29, 2015 due to the “commitment of the intentional actions by unknown with the use of the fire arms aiming for the intentional homicide” of -president Viktor Yanukovych in the period of time from February 21 until April 22, 2014.

In June 2018, Pechersk District Court of Kyiv obliged the prosecutor’s office to file the notice on the procedural rights and commitments as the victim to Dmytro Ivantsov, ex-security guard of Yanukovych and court recognized him a victim within the case the possible assassination attempt on ex-president Viktor Yanukovych.
Until this moment, any fact of the assassination attempt on Yanukovych was not established.

Yanukovych is charged with state treason, assistance in deliberate actions against Ukraine’s state border, sovereignty and territorial integrity and assistance in leading the aggressive war against Ukraine.  
As it was reported earlier, the Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office asks the court to sentence ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to 15 years of imprisonment in the case on state treason, as Prosecutor Maksym Krym said during the debates in the court on Thursday, August 16.
