Since Ukraine imposed travel ban for certain categories of Russian citizens, the State Border Guard has not let over a hundred of Russians onto the Ukrainian territory. Andriy Demchenko, the authority's representative said that in his commentary for 112 Ukraine TV channel.
'Most of them could not confirm the goal of their visit, some of them did not have the respective documents to enter Ukraine. Some people exceeded the allowed period of stay in our state', Demchenko said.
The State Border Guard also added that Russia appears to have started to apply similar measures - even though Russian Foreign Ministry promised not to do so; on November 30 alone, Russian border guards did not let 40 Ukrainians across the border. Over the past three days, the total number made 110 people.
As is known, Ukraine banned the entry for male Russian citizens aged from 16 to 60. This is due to the ongoing tense situation, caused by the recent Russian attack on Ukrainian vessels in Kerch Strait. The Ukrainian government reacted to the Russian aggression, imposing martial law in ten of the 24 regions of the country.
President Petro Poroshenko also ordered to toughen the procedure of registration of Russians in the martial law-affected regions.
