The shift of the parish to the United Ukrainian Orthodox Church will take place if such decision is supported by two-thirds of the congregation. Patriarch Filaret, the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kyiv Patriarchate) made such statement as 112.ua reported.
'The mechanism of the shift is to gather the whole parish. If the two-thirds of it vote for the stay with the Russian Church, this parish will belong to it. If the two-thirds vote for the Ukrainian Church, then the church along with the parish will shift to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,' the Patriarch said.

At the same time, he specified that if there are not enough voices for the decision, the state of the parish will remain the same.
Besides, the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church could not name the date of the holding of the Uniting Gathering of the Orthodox Churches in Ukraine, as it depends on the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

On October 11, the Synod lifted the anathema from Filaret, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate, and Makariy, the Primate of Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. Filaret stated that a united Jubilee Bishops' Council would take place soon to create a unified Ukrainian local church.
In addition, the Ecumenical Patriarchate recognized Russia’s Orthodox Church annexation of Kyiv metropole in 1686.
