FIFA officially states that there are no positive doping probes among players participating in the World Cup.
The press service of the authority reported that on Thursday; 3,985 samples were taken in course of 2,037 tests. Over 1,500 players were tested at first; then, the test pool was expanded.
Each player from the teams that made it to semifinals (France, England, Croatia and Belgium) was tested four times on the average.
One player actually had a positive result, but he appeared to have a therapeutical exclusion.
All samples are stored properly and may be available for tests over the next ten years.
As we reported, Croatia's national team made it to the semifinal, where it will cross swords with England. The game is slated for June 11.
On Tuesday night, France defeated Belgium 1-0 and, thus, will play in the final.
