Champions League: Boryspil airport ready to accept all Liverpool fans

Kyiv Boryspil International Airport will accept all the planes with the fans of Liverpool FC who are coming for the UEFA 2018 Champions League. This was reported by the Deputy Director of the airport Yevhen Dykhne on Facebook.
He said that the situation with Liverpool fans whose arrival was not confirmed by the airport, appeared because of lack of communication with the departure side.
"I would like to comment on the case connected to the Liverpool fans whose flights were as though "not confirmed" by Boryspil Airport. We strongly believe that the lack of so required communication from the departing part (Liverpool and Real Madrid) involving UEFA was the reason of the case that some part of fans was not able to visit the match. During the initial operational plan preparation concerning aircraft handling capacity for the period of Champions League we stated the Airport infrastructural limits in terms of wide-bodied aircraft (E-class) parking and admission facilities. That is why their number was limited to 8 for the both clubs. At the same time, there were no limits on C-class aircraft (Boeing 737-800, Airbus 320) - charter flights which could be used by air carriers for fans transportation," he wrote.
Later, several days ago, the airport received requests for slots for another three wide-bodied aircraft for May 26.

“As far as we are concerned we have no right to confirm slots without having the strongest belief of being capable of duly and high-quality aircraft handling opportunity creating in a result no transport collapse arising from departure schedule conflict (turnaround flight),” he said.
He specified that as a result of delicate negotiations with air carriers performing regular and charter flights at Boryspil not connected with the Champions League fans transportation, we were able to partially shift the flight's schedule and accept the abovementioned aircrafts.
Dykhne also noted that during the next 24 hours the airport will be working at its top acceptance rate.
"And once again, I would like to put an emphasis on the fact that during the following days Boryspil Airport performance will be stretched to the limits of its throughput capacity. I accord my thanks to all the Airport personnel who faced this challenge. And I assure that we can do this," he stated.
As it was reported earlier, Liverpool FC supporters faced a transport issue, due to which they cannot go to Kyiv for the final game of UEFA Champions League; as is known, the British are to face Real Madrid at NSC Olimpiysky stadium on Saturday.
The team's management released a statement, which says a thousand of fans could not depart to Ukraine because of a transport collapse caused by the huge number of flights to Kyiv. Because of this circumstance, the administration of Boryspil International Airport failed to schedule the arrival time for three flights from England.
Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson added he contacted his colleague in Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko to solve the issue. "Thank you for your help & support. Close to a solution now and more details will follow soon," he tweeted.
