Turkey is eager to host Euro 2024Turkey's football authorities confirmes the country will bid to host the 2024 European Championship.

The bid was announced on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) in Istanbul by Sports Minister Akif Cagatay Kilic and TFF chief Yildirim Demiroren.

According to the words of federation president Yildirim Demiroren, Turkey will formally submit its bid to UEFA on March 2. It will be country's fourth effort to host the European Championship.

"I hope the outcome will bring something beautiful for our country," said Kilic, emphasising the bid had been approved by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey had bid to host the final games of Euro 2020 but later withdrew its application saying it would concentrate efforts on 2024.

"Turkey is the only country in Europe and in the world to have invested in 32 stadiums in the past few years ... We believe that this time, as the (federation) and the people, we deserve to win this," Demiroren says.
