Ukrainians bagged silver and bronze in chess OlympicsSportsmen outstripped the Russian team but lost to the US.

Men's national team of Ukraine won the silver medals at the Chess Olympics in Baku.

Ukrainian chess players - Pavel Eljanov, Ruslan Ponomarev, Andrei Volokitin, Anton Korobov and Yuri Krivoruchko have confidently passed the full distance, beat top favourites of the tournament that is the Russian national team and passed over to the Americans only.

In the last round, our team confidently beat Slovenia. As a result, Ukrainians have scored the same points with the USA team but lost the "gold" by the additional indicators.

Russians became third.

The Ukrainian women's team in the last round secured a "bronze" (Anna Muzychuk has beaten the Bulgarians and Muzichuk Maria and Natalia Zhukova brought the party in a draw).

Russians lost to the Chinese women's team and dropped from second to fourth place.

Polish team became the third.
