The matches of 1/64 finals of Australian Open tennis tournament are held on January 15. Several Ukrainian tennis players represent the country in the first round.
On January 15, the first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina joined Lesia Tsurenko. Svitolina got through comfortably in her opening round match against Viktorija Golubic from Switzerland: in two sets she won with the score 6: 1, 6: 2.
In the second round Elina Svitolina will face Viktoria Kuzmova who earlier won in a match against Ukrainian Kateryna Kozlova. Ukrainian has won the first set 6:4 and continued the struggle in the second one, but has lost. And in the third set, Kuzmova has only gave up to her opponent two games.

Dayana Yastremska fought to get to the second round against Samantha Stosur, Australian tennis players. If in the first set the players were mostly on par which ended with Ukrainian winning with 7:5 score, the second set was dominated by the Ukrainian, who has only lost two games. In the second round Dayana will face a 23-year-old world racket Carla Suarez Navarro from Spain.
As it was reported earlier, another Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko has made it to the second round of Australian Open on January 14. 
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has risen three positions in Women's Tennis Association (WTA). On October 28, Svitolina won in the final of the WTA tournament in Singapore: in a decisive match, the first racket of Ukraine beat American Sloane Stephens with a score of 3: 6, 6: 2, 6: 2.
