The enhanced safety measures on the roads of Ukraine will continue until the end of the tourist season. Deputy Interior Minister Serhy Yarovy claimed this as the Communication Department of the Ministry reported.
“The strengthening of the road safety measures is not a temporary action but a steady work. Now, the officers of the National Guard are added to the patrol teams. The density of the patrol posts is increased at the highways of the state and international significance. All this will last until the end of the tourist season,” he claimed.

According to Yarovy, the joint checks along with the territorial departments of “Ukrtransbezbeneka” on the compliance with the rules and conditions of the transporting of people continue.
“The main reasons of the car accidents with the participation of the transport operators are the improper technical state of the vehicles and deliberate ignoring of the traffic rules by the drivers. Moreover, the unscrupulous transport operators in a search of wealth make changes of the interior construction, increasing its capacity and deliberately endanger the passengers in the case of the emergency. All these violations should be revealed and adequately responded by the law enforcers,” Yarovy said.

Oleksy Biloshytsky, the Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department reported about the confirmation of the plan of the urgent measures for the strengthening of the road safety and decrease the number of the accidents.
“We analyzed the accidents and worked out the detailed plan on the attraction of the additional forces and means of other departments for the organization of the effective monitor of the traffic. The service of the patrol police at the roads of the state and international significance and, places of the accidents’ concentration and places with busy traffic is taking under the personal control. They sent to the southern regions of our state and EU countries,” he noted.

As we reported a road accident claimed lives of five people not far from Kryve Ozero town in Mykolaiv region, southern Ukraine. Another twelve were taken to a hospital with various injuries.
Later a road accident in northern Ukraine occurred. A passenger bus ran into a van on the 127th kilometer of Kyiv-Chop highway, specifically in its section in Zhytomyr region. The crash killed ten people, and ten more sustained injuries.
