Ukrainian student wins Genius Olympiad in America

Valentin Frechka, a student of Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (MAS) won at the Genius Olympiad in the United States. According to the press office of MAS. 
Reportedly, the student was given a prize for a technology of creating a paper from fallen leaves. 
Valentin's innovation solves two ecological problems at the same time. The first, fallen leaves become a material for producing a cellulose without damaging trees, instead of being incinerated. The best suitable trees: birch, oak, willow, and hornbeam. The technology is unique in itself. The innovator uses a blender for separation of the cellulose. First, he crushes the fibers, then bleaches them,' reads the message. 

The student himself claims that the paper that is created by this method is of somewhat worse quality compared to normal paper. That's why this paper is better to be used for packing. 
The Ukrainian got a chance to participate at the South Korean exhibition for winning the Genius Olympiad. 
As it was reported earlier, Mykola Ivanchenko from Kyiv for creating a special adsorbent for oil spill response won a gold medal in 2017. 
Genius Olympiad is an international intellectual competition among secondary school students. The participants present their projects aimed at the resolution of ecological problems. There are following awards: 'Basic science', 'Material science', 'Art', 'Creative writing', 'Design', 'Business development'. There are 1.3 thousand participants at the Genius Olympiad this year.
