Russian film director Stanislav Govorukhin died

Russian film director Stanislav Govorukhin died in Moscow on June 14. This was announced by the State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin at the plenary session,
"I want to inform you that at 10:37 in the Barvikha sanatorium after a severe and prolonged illness our colleague Stanislav Govorukhin has passed away. He fought with the disease, but it won," the politician said.
The parliamentarians honored Govorukhin's memory with a minute of silence.
Govorukhin was born on March 29, 1936 in the Sverdlovsk region of the Russian
Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. He died at the age of 82.

Earlier, the media spread information about his death before, but the press secretary of Govorukhin denied this.
Stanislav Govorukhin is People's Artist of the Russian Federation, screenwriter, director of movies "Vertical", "The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed", "Pirates of the XX century", "In search of Captain Grant", " And Then There Were None", " Voroshilov Sharpshooter", " Bless the Woman" and many others. He took an active part in political life, being a member of the United Russia party. In 2000 he was a presidential candidate.
