The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine sent an explanation letter to all universities, as well as to local government bodies working with educational institutions,  that since March 5, all kindergartens, schools, vocational schools and universities will operate in usual mode. This is stated in the message of the press service of the Ministry of Education.

"Now the problem with gas supply in the country was quickly solved, therefore, on March 5, all educational institutions - kindergartens, schools, vocational schools and universities - will work as usual. The relevant decision was taken by the Crisis Committee of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine todayIt is noted that the Ministry of Education and Science sent a corresponding letter of explanation to all universities, as well as to local self-government bodies.

According to the letter, exceptions can be made by those institutions that do not work for reasons not related to gas supply.

"For example, such a cause may be quarantine or other circumstances," it was reported.

The Ministry of Education also draws attention to the fact that the immediate decision to suspend or resume the work of universities is taken by the institution itself within its autonomy.
Earlier the Ministry of Education and Science recommended all educational institutions to suspend work until March 7, in order to save gas consumption and ensure proper conditions for training.

This was due to the fact that Gazprom reduced by 20% the pressure in the gas pipelines on its side of the system and minimized the sale of gas to other customers.

This step of Gazprom is connected with the decision of Stockholm Arbitration, adopted on February 28. According to the results of the two arbitration proceedings in Stockholm, Gazprom has to pay 2.56 billion dollars in favor of Naftogaz.

Gazprom said that it does not agree with the decision, stressing that "it will defend its rights by all means available to it in accordance with applicable law." On March 2, the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, announced the beginning of a procedure for the termination of contracts with Naftogaz of Ukraine for the supply and transit of gas.
