Ukrainian film "Cyborgs’ has broken the record on the box office and number of views in the times of independent Ukraine, as Pylyp Illenko, head of Ukrainian State Film Agency said, according to UNN.
He says that the movie earned over $845.000 and was viewed by 310.569 people.
Illenko also told that the state budget of Ukraine for 2018 allocated almost $19 million for film production.
“As of today, the state budget of Ukraine allocated for financing $18.8 million of government support, $17.8 of which are for feature movies,” he said.

Moreover, Illenko noted that there’s another state program for patriotic films, for which another $18.6 million was allocated. The Ministry of Culture is responsible for these funds.
‘Cyborgs’ is a Ukrainian feature film which tells the story of the defenders of Donetsk airport, who by their unconditional bravery were called cyborgs.
It was first aired in December 2017. The production team launched the social initiative ‘IDoCare’, which assumes that every 17 U.S. cents from a bought ticket will go to cover the needs of the families of deceased defenders of Donetsk airport.
