Over this year, the number of the solved crimes grew by 40,000 cases – compared to the index reached in 2016. Serhiy Knyazev, the head of the told that to the press at the annual summary briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
According to the official, the overall crime rate in Ukraine has not changed much compared with that in 2016.
‘In 2016, we registered 562, 372 cases; over 11 months in 2017, we registered 500 490 violations. Thus, we confirm that the quantitative crime rate has not changed over the year – which was exactly our official forecast in early 2017. We actually expected the crime rate to grow. And these numbers prove the efficiency of our work. This year, we sent to the court 40,000 cases more than we did previous year,’ he said.
Knyazev also added that the number of thefts has decreased across the country this year.
