2018 will be the year of ‘I have the right’ initiative in Ukraine, - Poroshenko

President Petro] signed the decree, which makes 2018 the year of ‘I have the right’ initiative in Ukraine; this is a nation-wide project, aiming to boost the citizens’ awareness of their constitutional rights and the ways to ensure these rights. This is mentioned in the message on the President’s website.
The decree states that the government should duly inform the citizens about their constitutional rights in respective areas, using the media, phone hotlines, meetings with citizens and spreading information materials. The Cabinet is due to report to the head of the state every three months, informing him of the status and the course of this initiative.
According to Poroshenko, this program is designed to increase the level of protection of constitutional rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens. ‘This is going to be more than mere free legal assistance in courts, which our citizens already enjoy. It is about free legal consultations, which will from now on be accessible for the least protected social strata,’ he said.
