More than 100 people in camouflage detained at Krakowiec checkpoint

More than a hundred people in camouflage uniforms who moved towards the Ukrainian-Polish border at Krakowiec checkpoint were taken to the police station for identification. This was reported by the press service of the National Police Department in the Lviv region.

During the inspection, law enforcement officers found gas cartridges, a starting pistol, and metal objects.

The identity of the detainees and the reasons for their presence in the area of the border crossing point are now being established. It is known that all detainees are residents of other regions of Ukraine. Among them there are students, as well as three minors.

It has also been established that four of those brought to the police station have a criminal record.

An administrative protocol on violation of the established procedure for organizing and holding meetings, rallies, street campaigns and demonstrations will be filled against the event organizer.

As previously reported, today around 10:00 the police at the Krakowiec checkpoint have stepped up security measures at the border crossing point on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
Also first skirmish began there because of the activist of Femen movement.

We recall, on August 16, Mikheil Saakashvili announced that he would return to Ukraine on September 10 through the checkpoint in Lviv region.

State Border Service asked citizens "not to use" the Krakowiec checkpoint on the day of Saakashvili's arrival.

The Office of the Procurator General of Ukraine confirmed the receipt of a request for the extradition of ex-governor of the Odesa region Mikheil Saakashvili, since in Georgia he acts as a defendant in 4 four criminal proceedings and on August 4, 2014 was put on the wanted list.

As reported, on July 26, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, by his decree, stripped Mikheil Saakashvili of Ukrainian citizenship. In response, the former head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili said that President Petro Poroshenko will not be able to deprive him of Ukrainian citizenship.
