One of the largest Ukrainian torrent trackers torrents.net.ua has announced the decision to suspend work.
"Unfortunately, the site does not work, and this will continue for some time. It is an extremely unpleasant situation for all of us, but we hope for the best and the prerequisites for this exist," the statement says posted on the website of the resource on Friday.
The reasons for the stop and restart dates are not specified.
As reported, on November 16 the Ukrainian file hosting service ex.ua informed about the decision to terminate its operations
and asked all users to remove the files from their archives on ex.ua before November 30, 2016. In the past year ex.ua faced direct threats and blackmailing [including at the national level] and DDOS attacks. These actions jeopardize personal information and personal files of users stored on the resource. The service has been operating legally, but not everyone liked this interpretation of the law.
Earlier, on November 15, the officers of the cyber police department of the National Police of Ukraine terminated activities of a group of pirate online movie theatres, in particular FS.TO, after receiving claims from copyright holders – members of the Motion Picture Association of America and some Ukrainian copyright holders on violation of copyright and associated rights by one of the websites.
