Tourism accounts for about 10 percent of Thailand's GDP, Reuters.
Tourism and Sports Minister of Thailand said on Friday the country is likely to meet the previously announced forecast of 32.4 million visitors this year, a target that was revised lower in early October.
The country has been clad in rueful sables after the death of the King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who died on October 13.
Thailand announced a year-long period of mourning to mark the death of the leader, who had been reigning for 70 years.
Authorities have advised festivities be curtailed for the first 30 days of the king's death, although it also urged businesses to stay active.
Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul told reporters that visitor arrivals rose 1.8 percent in October from a year earlier, or about 1.9 million.
