Ukraine switched to daylight saving time (DST), so-called summer time, last night. The clocks were set one hour ahead at 3:00 AM.
Thus, the daylight saving time 2020 in Ukraine began at 3:00 AM on Sunday, March 29.
In 2020, the daylight saving time ends at 4:00 AM on Sunday, October 25 Eastern European Time.
The UK invented those clock changes to summer time or to winter time for saving electricity in 1908. The Soviet Union switched the time for the first time in 1981.
The summer time is set in more than 70 countries, in particular, almost every EU country.  On August 2018 the European Parliament has backed a proposal to stop the obligatory one-hour clock change. On March 26, 2019, the MEPs voted for the proposal, which requires states to stop the twice-yearly clock change from 2021, and choose either permanent summer time or winter time.
In Europe, only Iceland, Belarus, and Russia do not switch to winter time. In the post-Soviet space, the watch hands are moved only in Ukraine and Moldova. The Russian Federation decided not to switch to winter time in 2011, Ukraine decided no switch as well, but later this decision was canceled.
