The Central Election Commission reports refusing to register candidates of the Communist Party
of Ukraine in the nationwide multi-member electoral district for the snap parliamentary elections to the Verkhovna Rada on July 21.
It is noted that the decision was made after meeting of the CEC on June 22.
The CEC also denied registration of the Communist Party representative with an advisory vote.
As it was reported earlier, the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal rejected to hear the claim of the head of the Communist Party of Ukraine Petro Symonenko against the Central Election Committee of Ukraine.

Symonenko, together with the Communist Party of Ukraine initiated the suit, demanding to cancel the decision of the Committee not to register him as a presidential candidate. They also demanded the Committee to re-examine the documents and to register Symonenko.

The Central Election Committee of Ukraine refused to register Symonenko, because he has been nominated as the candidate from the banned Communist Party, what contradicts the law “On the Conviction of the Communist and National-Socialist (Nazi) Totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of their symbols propaganda”. Communists claimed this decision to be politically motivated and unconstitutional.
