Great Britain declares Salisbury Novichok free

The English city of Salisbury has been officially declared free of the nerve agent Novichok on March 1, almost a year after the poison attack ofthe ex-GRU officer Sergey Skripal and his daughter there. RFE/RL reports this.
According to the military experts, they passed the rights of the last site, which is the last building connected with Skripal poisoning incident, to the local authorities. There were 12 potentially dangerous sites in the town, the decontamination of which took almost a year. Besides, the decontamination work was conducted in the nearby town of Amesbury as well.

The handover of the site at effectively now concludes the significant military contribution to support Salisbury and Amesbury following the Novichok nerve agent attack," the report said.
The decontamination work took more 13,000 hours of cleaning done by military teams in more than 250 sites, as the part of the Morlop operation.
Earlier, the house ofthe ex-GRU officer Sergey Skripal, who was poisoned in Great Britain on March 2018, has been declared safe and the rights to the house have been passed to the authorities of the County Wiltshire.

The property will be put into public use again after it will be completely renovated.
As we reported earlier, former Russian spySergey Skripaland his daughter Yuliya might be dead, asthe press office of Russias Embassyto the UK reported.
The representatives of the establishment added that nobody saw Skripal since March 4 last year. Yuliya gave a video message in May 2018.
Reportedly, the Crown Prosecution Service of the U.K. called the names ofthe suspects inthe poisoning of the ex-GRU officer Sergey Skripaland his daughterYulia. The police suspect Russians Alexander Petrov and RuslanBoshirov. They are accused of the poisoning ofSkripals, apolice officer who participated in the investigation, and two U.K. citizens in Amesbury.
